Have you watched Korean historical drama, "Hwang Jin-yi" ?
In Joseon Dynasty,
gisaengs were selected to be trained
to appear on the stage in the Palace for the royal family.
These special gisaengs and their arts were called "Yeoak(여악, 女樂)".
It means "the arts of Women".
We can usually see dancers of Joseon
wearing Jeonlip and Jeonmo, holding two swords like male military officers (left),
or wearing colorful Wonsam, Hansam, making their hear Eoyeo-meori like royal ladies (right).

Ooohhh, so THAT'S why she was dressed in men's wear! (I'm so proud I recognized the officer outfit from dramas, haha). I didn'T know that gisengs had such dance too, it's pretty cool! 8D
